This Saturday, besides being a BRFM morning, Indianapolis will be holding the 11th Annual Monumental Marathon. And traffic to and from the Market may be impacted.

Opening ceremonies will start downtown at 7:30 am with the race kicking off around 8 am and ending with roads re-opening at 3 pm.  The course follows what is largely a north-south route through the city, passing by Monument Circle and University and Veterans Memorial Parks on the way to North Meridian Street, which participants will follow for the next several miles.

Street closings that will most likely impact your route to the Market will be along Washington Blvd. north from 38th to 58th and College Ave. from 58th north to 66th from about 8:45 to 11:45 am; and then along Riverview to Meridian and back south from about 9:10 am to 1:10 pm.  For the full route map and approximate times, click here.

Due to these road closings, this weekend it would be wise to approach the Market from the east and Keystone Ave. or the north via Westfield rather than College and leave the same way. Unless of course, you are participating in the Monumental Marathon, in which case, good luck and good running.
