You may not know that we are an all-volunteer-run market. Our Market Master is even a volunteer. We do what we do because we believe in the mission of the Broad Ripple Farmers Market and because we love being involved with our vendors and customers.
One of the perks of being a volunteer is getting to know the farmers and artisans who bring their produce and products to our market. They are some exceptionally dedicated and talented people who are very much worth getting to know.
Another perk is just being there to enjoy the people, the food, the music, and all the dogs. The BRFM really is a fun place to be on a Saturday morning! The volunteers and vendors all share information about what is available to eat and drink and buy to take home.
We’re really flexible too! If you don’t want to commit to coming every week, we are happy to have you work with us every other week or once a month, when you can, or for special events. We have a variety of convenient market-day shifts – including early for setup, middle, and later for tear-down.
This year we are in particular need of volunteers with skills to do social media during the market. If you know your way around twitter and instagram, please let us know.
All you have to do to get involved is visit our website at www.brfm.org and under Contact, click on Become a Volunteer; or click here. Fill out the form and submit it, and we’ll contact you soon to get you started.
Being a volunteer at the market really does make for the BEST SATURDAYS EVER!
