The 2018 season at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market begins with Opening Day on Saturday May 5th! We are so excited to be back again bringing fresh local food to the community. Now here’s a preview of what you can expect this year at the Market.

Location, Location, Location

That has been the burning question on everyone’s mind since IPS announced its plan to close and sell Broad Ripple High School. The good news (for this year anyway) is that IPS has given us the okay to use the parking lot at the high school through the 2018 season.

Goodbyes Are Never Easy

Every year we have the sad task of saying goodbye to vendors we’ve come to know and love. This year is no exception.  We are sorry to bid farewell to The Amazing Chip Co., Broad Ripple Chip Co., Café Baby, Indiana Craft Jerky, Jacquie’s Gourmet Catering, and Valentine Hill Farm

If you’re interested in finding their products outside our market, ask us at the Information Booth and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Exciting New Vendors Coming

The upside to having those beloved vendors move on, is that it leaves space for some exciting new vendors.

We are pleased to welcome 3in1 Restaurant (tamales and pupusas), Cordes Berry Farm (blackberries and blackberry products), Hickory Valley Farms (shag bark hickory syrup), HoiTea ToiTea (teas, beverages, and macarons), Primal Delights (kombucha and fermented products), Roamers (smoothies, overnight oats, avocado toast, and baked goods), and Turchetti Salumeria (charcuterie).

We’re also welcoming back Tim Burton and Burton’s Maplewood Farms with their variety of barrel-aged maple syrups. Many of you may remember Tim from several seasons ago.

Some of these vendors will be with us every week, some on alternate weeks, and some only seasonally. As always, the vendor list on our website will show you when to expect individual vendors to be at the Market.

Opening Day

For our very first Market of the season, we can expect spring greens, asparagus, flowers, bedding plants, hanging baskets, and much more. Look for ready to eat breakfast items, lots of prepared foods, meats, eggs, cheese, and delicious baked goods.

Enjoy live music, bring your well-behaved canine companions, and be prepared to shop (with your re-usable shopping bags) rain or shine. We can’t wait to show you all we’ve got to offer in 2018!

Watch for More Information

We’ll be sending out our annual reminders about Traffic & Parking, Weather Policy, and Dog Rules next week in preparation for the first Market. We’re also updating our website for the new season. By Opening Day you’ll be able to find everything you need to know to enjoy the 2018 Season of the BRFM.
