When Myriam Boyer came to Indianapolis from her home in Monterrey, Mexico, she was just focused on getting her MBA at Butler University. She got her degree, and stayed on with husband Eric and their two beautiful children. As part of their family culture, they loved to entertain and serve their guests fresh-made guacamole and salsas. Their friends loved it too and begged for more. They also encouraged Myriam to make more and sell it! Thus Guacamole — “we guac your world” was born.
Starting in 2012, Myriam enlisted the help of family and friends and began making fresh guacamole, pico de gallo, salsa verde, and chips in a commercial kitchen. Their authentic and freshly-made products were a huge hit at the Fishers Farmers Market where they began selling them. And from there, their reputation spread. They get fresh avocados from a local wholesale provider and other fresh ingredients from local growers; then make the salsas and chips in the commercial kitchen. The guacamole they make right in front of the customers at the Market. You can’t get any fresher than that!
We were very excited to meet with them over this past winter to find out more about their business and ultimately invite them to join our Market. And it looked like our BRFM customers were excited to welcome them last week for their debut. The lines were long for samples and purchases and everyone seemed to be loving what they had to offer, which included key lime pie — whole pies and slices!
