Getting Ready for Easter and Passover!

7403836c-de29-4c38-a6ca-c54b17689cd0Saturday is National Poultry Day, and we invite you to celebrate this whole range of domestic feathered friends that are raised for their meat and eggs during both Easter and Passover. We will have guest chickens that you can see, touch and hold!

Phelps Family Farm is offering Easter Hams this week. They have a limited number of hickory smoked, delicious hams. The hams weigh 8 to 10 lbs. and are $4.50 per pound.  Call (765) 942-2047 or email the Phelps’ at to reserve one.

There will be coloring brown eggs with natural dyes! Check out this great website for egg coloring options! Mandy at Schacht Farms recommends turmeric, chlorophyll, and blackberry juice.  She hard cooks her eggs in the dye with a little bit of salt and vinegar…it makes the colors vibrant.

So, be sure to stock up on eggs and chickens at both Phelps Family Farm and Schacht Farm for your holiday needs.
