good and cheapSeptember 27th and 28th are marked on my calendar in big red letters! And there are two important reasons why!

Firstly, Slow Food Indy and Pogue’s Run Grocer are hosting a free talk by author Leanne Brown (Good and Cheap: How to Eat Well on $4 a Day) at Arsenal Tech at 6:30 pm on the 28th.

Learn how to stretch a food budget, cook at home, and discover the joys of healthy eating! And did I mention that it’s FREE! Click here for all the details and to reserve your place at this great event.

super harvest moonSecondly, there will be a Super Harvest Moon AND a total lunar “blood moon” eclipse both on the night of the 27th! A super moon is when the full moon is super close to the earth causing it to look much larger and brighter than usual; and in addition, on this occasion there will also be a total lunar eclipse!

The super harvest moon will be visible any time after sunset, but the best visibility for the eclipse will begin at 9:07 pm, become total at 10:11 pm, peak at 10:47, and end at 11:23 EDT. Let’s hope for clear skies!
