Firstly, Slow Food Indy and Pogue’s Run Grocer are hosting a free talk by author Leanne Brown (Good and Cheap: How to Eat Well on $4 a Day) at Arsenal Tech at 6:30 pm on the 28th.
Learn how to stretch a food budget, cook at home, and discover the joys of healthy eating! And did I mention that it’s FREE! Click here for all the details and to reserve your place at this great event.
Secondly, there will be a Super Harvest Moon AND a total lunar “blood moon” eclipse both on the night of the 27th! A super moon is when the full moon is super close to the earth causing it to look much larger and brighter than usual; and in addition, on this occasion there will also be a total lunar eclipse!
The super harvest moon will be visible any time after sunset, but the best visibility for the eclipse will begin at 9:07 pm, become total at 10:11 pm, peak at 10:47, and end at 11:23 EDT. Let’s hope for clear skies!
