This middle weekend of June has Flag Day on Saturday, and Fathers Day on Sunday. I have already seen the biggest American flag ever right in my very own neighborhood — I think it is actually a tent for some weekend festivities. And the internet and my e-mail inbox have been full of Fathers Day gift ideas and cookout menus for celebrating dad.
One way to enjoy the holiday would be to participate in the Fathers Day Potluck at Distelrath Farm, organized by Slow Food Indy. It’s not far away, they’re smoking chickens that were raised on the farm, and it should be a great way to spend the day with good food, summer fun, and your favorite father. You can find more information on their facebook page here.
Oh, and don’t forget to include a Saturday morning stop at the Market in your weekend plans! New vendors Balanced Harvest Farm and Tulip Tree Creamery will be joining us. And DigIN will visit the Market with information about Taste of Indiana!
