Backyard Birds has been with the BRFM for four seasons. Their business however, started in 2004 when they decided to use their great love of nature and of animals in making high-quality nature products available to the Broad Ripple and Meridian-Kessler area.
Brandt Carter and Steve Pearson, along with store manager John Heubi run their unique store at 2374 E. 54th Street. Meg Jones is their gardener and bird specialist at the Market every Saturday during the season. Backyard Birds sells birdseed, mixes, feeders, birdbaths, birdhouses, and all kinds of backyard nature gifts. In addition, they carry premium dog and cat food, and chicken feed too. They pride themselves on offering a wide variety of products to their customers.
“The birdseed mixes are our own blends made fresh weekly, and we even work with customers to make blends especially for them.” said Brandt. “Having had a franchise nature store previously, we found we could offer more products and personal service as an independent store.” Backyard Birds has convenient hours, only closed on Mondays and they even provide free delivery and onsite consultations within their range.
