I love the variety – all the people from all walks of life, the vendors, the produce and the products! I really enjoy the atmosphere. And I love all the friendly dogs!
How did you become a BRFM volunteer?
I was looking for ways to spend my time, other than sitting in my apartment, since I don’t have much money to spend. I stopped in at the Wednesday Market to sign up for the e-newsletter and found out about volunteering.
What do you do when you are not at the Market(s)?
I work for Franklin University of Ohio at 82nd and Allisonville, where I do a lot of explaining that it is different from Franklin College. I also do freelance writing — web and marketing articles and music reviews, that kind of thing. I play the guitar, I am a bit of a foodie, and I also like craft beers.
What would you tell someone who is thinking of volunteering at the BRFM?
You’ll have a fantastic time! You’ll get to talk to a lot of interesting people, learn more about food, and eat lots of good stuff!
